Webinar: Engaging communities to prevent Gender Based Violence – Perspectives from India, Peru and Samoa

In this webinar we explored how communities can act together to prevent Gender Based Violence (GBV) drawing on examples where the Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) methodology has been used in India, Peru and Samoa.

Dr. Nayreen Daruwalla, Director of the Program on Prevention of Violence against Women and Children at the Society for Nutrition, Education and Health Action in India, presented on Project TARA – a cluster randomised controlled trial on violence against women and girls in urban India.

Dr. Laura Brown, Postdoctoral Researcher at the UCL Institute for Global Health, presented on the EVE Project – a research study to improve the evidence around preventing violence against women in the world’s highest prevalence settings.

Suchitra Rath, Process Evaluation Lead at Ekjut in India, presented on Ekjut’s work on prevention of gender based violence in Jharkhand, India.
