Webinar: Using Participatory Learning and Action to improve child vaccination in humanitarian contexts

Our colleagues at UCL and their partners have recently completed a cluster randomised controlled trial.

They have adapted PLA, to increase knowledge and uptake of child vaccination in an internally displaced peoples (IDP) camp in Somalia.

This exciting trial is the first ever of PLA in a humanitarian context.

Dr. Andy Seal and Mr Mohamed Jelle from UCL and Dr. Hodan Abdullahi Mohamed from Action Against Hunger, joined us to present on how the PLA approach was adapted and run in partnership with local endogenous social groups in Somalia.

They discussed the extent to which it helped achieve important changes in public health knowledge and practice.

There was a Q+A session after the presentation with Andy, Jelle and Hodan.
