“Learning and building from their experiences is what I enjoy most”.

Community health groups provide women the opportunity to share knowledge and experiences, supporting others and collectively enabling people to find the solutions to their health problems. Florida explains the benefits of that as a group facilitator.

“You’re wasting your time, you’re getting nothing… then she became a prominent member”.

Florida recalls how one woman in the community’s initial cynicism changed when she became pregnant and needed help when she went into labour.

“It’s not for Malawi, nor for Africa, but something for the global world”.

Florida’s extensive experience and career has benefited thousands of women. Here she talks about some of her proudest achievements so far.

Florida will support Women and Children First with further training across Africa, helping more women become effective leaders and supervisors, bringing communities together to address their critical health problems.
