Christmas Cracker! Comedy Night with Jenny Eclair Raises £10,490

Jenny Eclair has the crowd laughing uproariously at the comedy show

Thanks to all who came to the Leicester Square Theatre for our comedy night, starring Jenny Eclair, Nish Kumar and Michelle De Swarte.

Together, you raised an incredible £10,490, smashing our target. Your support is enabling us to work with more mums-to-be and young women in rural, remote communities.

The money raised came from on the night donations and proceeds from ticket sales. Thanks to all who came, gave, and laughed their way through live comedy for a good cause.

The support given will enable us to further our work with maternal and newborn health groups in Ethiopia, as well as projects in Malawi to support women with their sexual and reproductive health.

Jenny Eclair, writing on Instagram, said, “Really lovely gig for Women and Children First, raising funds for safe births around the world. Childbirth is brutal and too many women in developing countries suffer horribly. A pleasure to help.”
